TVP Team members kick off the summer season over Memorial Weekend with the last boys qualifier of the indoor season, Boys East Coast Championships in Richmond, Virginia. Another month of training in June and TVP is off to Dallas, Texas for the Boys Junior National Championships. Currently ranked #14 nationally, TVP 18 is poised to compete in the open division after earning a bid in Harrisburg in February. TVP 15, who are undefeated and ranked #21 nationally as a U14 team, will be competing in the U15 division.
More than half of TVP's 30 athletes will be training in USA Volleyball's High Performance programs in Tennessee, Chicago and Florida this summer, with as many as six competing at the HP Championships in Fort Lauderdale. Other TVP athletes are attending camps at Penn State and Princeton.
TVP athletes will be preparing for their freshman years after committing to play at Vanguard University of Southern California, the University of Southern California, Ohio State University, New York University, Alvernia University, and also for their studies and club programs at University of Maryland and George Mason University. Another TVP athlete will be preparing for his senior year of high school and commitment to play at UC Irvine while training with the USA Youth National Team.
Many of the TVP boys have already started their outdoor season training in the sand and will compete at First Rites in Rehobeth over Mother's Day weekend.
TVP coaches and staff are traveling to Europe , Australia, up and down the East Coast, the Midwest, the West Coast, and Alaska.
As TVP winds down this summer, the popular TVP Grass League will take a hiatus. If TVP decides to squeeze in a local outdoor program between our excursions, information will be posted on the TVP website. In the meantime, there are many opportunities to grow your game this summer. We encourage anyone with the time and financial backing to pick up the reigns and organize your volleyball community on the sand and grass this summer. Please let us know if TVP can help your program get up and running.
Go Play! And wear something cool, like these TVP tops (more styles and colors in the TVP Store):
