Rumors and innuendo swirled around TVP this summer as a growing number of people voiced concern that TVP has changed its name to TCP, or worse, competed incognito at its largest tournament last season.
TCP is the name assigned to TVP in the Summer 2018 issue of VolleyballUSA. "The TCP acronym certainly helps with simplicity and readability. Simple in that the "C' is the third letter of the alphabet, while "V" is the 22nd letter of the alphabet" noted TVP Director John Hartranft. "The only thing simpler would have been 'TBP' because 'TAP' does not have three rhyming letters."
Since the publication went out to its global subscribers, the TVP office has been busy answering calls from new fans seeking technical assistance with Transmission Control Protocol, tenocyclidine, tricalcium phosphate, and a host of other TCP applications, substances and stuff.
Hartranft went on to clarify, "We want to reassure our existing fanbase that, though we are always open to all suggestions for name improvements, we will be sticking with TVP for now, as confusing as it is. We also wish to send a warm welcome all of our new TCP fans."
