Dawn has established a reputation as a leading coach and advocate for volleyball in Montgomery County with a record of achievement and support for creating positive opportunities for young people to play.
Dawn's 21-year coaching experience includes five years as varsity girls coach at LaPlata High School, nine years as the Richard Montgomery High School JV coach, and seven years at Clarksburg High School (including 6 years as JV girls coach). Dawn has taken the Clarksburg High School varsity boys volleyball program to new heights since taking over as head coach in 2009. In successive years, her teams have gone deeper into the playoffs, reaching the Montgomery County Championship match in 2014 following a stellar 14 match win streak.
Dawn helped launch the Charles County Juniors Club and coached for the Southern Maryland Juniors Club. Dawn served on the coordinating committee for the inaugural MoCo Boys Volleyball Senior Select Game in 2009, which raised money for the Dig Pink Foundation, a volleyball organization that supports breast cancer research. Dawn added the role as head coach for the 2010 match.
Dawn played four years in high School and two years at Charles County Community College, earning All Conference honors both years and conference MVP in her second season. Dawn continued to play for USAV clubs and remains active in local recreational leagues . Dawn is a graduate of the University of Maryland.
