Alex began playing volleyball during his Freshman year of high school in 2009. Since then, Alex has become an established setter and defensive specialist. He was a member of the Richard Montgomery HS Boys' Varsity team all of his four years. Alex's vocal leadership on the court helped them to four consecutive Division Titles and two Montgomery County 2nd place titles, one during his sophomore year as a defensive specialist and again during his senior year as a setter and Team Captain. He was named Team MVP and All-Gazette 2nd Team his senior year. As a two-year club player, he played under TVP Director, John Hartranft as a setter running both 6-2 and 5-1 offenses. Alex helped his club team place 2nd in the Chesapeake Region and travel to the 2012 USAV Boys' Junior National Championships held in Dallas, TX. After graduating in 2013, Alex has played for several adult leagues and clubs as his love for volleyball will never expire.
After the Montgomery County volleyball community encouraged Alex to pursue volleyball during Freshman Year P.E., Alex decided to give back to his fellow younger players and has been Assistant Coaching the Richard Montgomery Girls' and Boys' Volleyball teams since 2011. Alex's analytical perspective of volleyball has helped him to compete successfully with players taller and older than him and he hopes to spread his growing love for the sport to younger players by providing the support and understanding of the very intricate sport. Alex's #1 priorities in volleyball are floor communication and understanding the ball in order to produce a desired result.
Alex is currently studying Psychology at Montgomery College-Rockville, eventually hoping to transfer and double major in Neuroscience and Psychology at the University of Maryland-College Park.
